For Nonprofit staff and Board members it is critical to have a strong familiarity with financial statements and being able to read them. Understanding Nonprofit financial statements is key to establishing, sustaining and managing a successful Nonprofit Business Organization. These financial statements are essential in preparing tax returns, assessing effectiveness of fund raising activities, grant applications and in validating management decisions. You don’t have to be an accountant to keep the financial records of your Nonprofit Business, but you do need to understand the accounting concepts so you can better manage your Nonprofit Business.
